What works
What to fix
The rules it applies
- Scores length against the range where headlines stay readable in search results.
- Rewards concrete elements — numbers, brackets, power words — and flags vague ones.
- Every deduction names the fix, so the score is a checklist, not a grade from nowhere.
A worked example
“How to choose a SIP trunk for a small business” scores 85/100 — strong:
- Length inside the range search results display in full.
- Power words present: how.
- No number. Where a count or a year is true, one makes the promise specific.
- No clear pull. A benefit word (“save”, “best”, “simple”) or a risk word (“mistakes”, “avoid”) gives the reader a reason.
